Every channel gets the same APK, signed by us. Pick the one that matches how you like to install — or how much you want to know about where your binaries come from.

Zapstore

Nostr-native · signed releases
Open Zapstore

A decentralized app store built on Nostr. Releases are signed with our Nostr key and verified by your client before install — no centralized gatekeeper, no platform cut. Best if you want cryptographic provenance and direct support via zaps.

  1. Download the Zapstore client from zapstore.dev and install it.
  2. Open Zapstore, search for Firedown.
  3. Tap install. Zapstore verifies the signature and hands off to Android's installer.

F-Droid

Our own repo · self-signed
Add repo to F-Droid

We run our own F-Droid repository, so updates come straight from us — not from F-Droid's build servers. Best if you already use F-Droid and want signed updates from the developer rather than a third-party rebuild.

  1. Install F-Droid or Droid-ify if you don't have a client.
  2. Tap Add repo to F-Droid above (on Android), or paste the URL into Settings → Repositories → Add new.
  3. Verify the fingerprint matches what's shown below — your client will display it.
  4. Search for Firedown in the client and install.

Direct APK

Simplest · no extra app needed
Download APK

Just the APK file, served from this site over HTTPS. Best if you want the fastest path from "I'd like to try it" to a working install — no extra clients, no accounts, no repositories to add. Updates won't be automatic; come back here (or watch GitHub releases) when a new version ships.

  1. Tap Download APK above on your Android device.
  2. If prompted, allow your browser to install unknown apps.
  3. Open the downloaded APK and confirm the install.

Obtainium

Auto-updates · pulls from GitHub releases
Add to Obtainium

Obtainium tracks GitHub releases and notifies you when a new APK is published. Best if you already use Obtainium for other apps and want a single place to manage all your sideloaded updates — without adding any custom repository.

  1. Install Obtainium if you don't have it.
  2. Tap Add to Obtainium above on Android, or paste the URL below into Obtainium's "Add app" screen.
  3. Obtainium will track our GitHub releases and prompt you whenever a new build ships.

All channels distribute the same APK signed by the same key. If you want to verify a build, compare the SHA-256 of the downloaded APK against the hashes published on GitHub releases.
