Every build is signed with the same key across all channels, and Firedown has no telemetry, no tracking and no advertising IDs. You can verify any release's SHA-256 against our GitHub releases.
No. Bookmark sync is end-to-end encrypted: your bookmarks are scrambled on your phone before they're uploaded, so our server only ever stores ciphertext it cannot read — never your titles, URLs or anything else. Sync is optional and off by default, and needs no account, email or phone number. The encrypted backup for downloaded files (coming soon) works the same zero-knowledge way.
Your recovery code is generated on your device and is the only key to your encrypted data — we never see it and cannot reset it. That's exactly what keeps your data private, but it also means that if you lose the code, no one (including us) can decrypt your synced bookmarks, and they're gone for good. Keep your recovery code somewhere safe.
