YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, Twitch, Facebook, X (Twitter), Reddit, Kick, Rumble, Vimeo and Dailymotion, plus direct file hosts like Mega. Firedown can download from virtually any website; if it isn't DRM-protected, it can save it.

Is it safe to install?

Every build is signed with the same key across all channels, and Firedown has no telemetry, no tracking and no advertising IDs. You can verify any release's SHA-256 against our GitHub releases.

Can anyone read my synced bookmarks?

No. Bookmark sync is end-to-end encrypted: your bookmarks are encrypted on your phone before they are uploaded, so our server only stores ciphertext it cannot read: never your titles, URLs or contents. Sync is optional and off by default, and needs no account, email or phone number. The encrypted backup for downloaded files works the same zero-knowledge way.

What happens if I lose my recovery code?

Accepted Answer

Your recovery code is generated on your device and is the only key to your encrypted data. We never see it and cannot reset it. If you lose it, no one (including us) can decrypt your synced bookmarks, and they are gone for good. Keep your recovery code somewhere safe.
